Electric OU: Supplement: Tar Baby’s Capacitor Bank

Some question may exist about the capacitance value of the bank used to power Tar Baby. This bank of electrolytic caps powers Tar Baby with no batteries, and can be used to illustrate the Negative Mean Power in the oscillations With NO BATTERIES, for a significant time before the DC VOLTAGE on the bank decreases below about 12 volts. This behaviour is IDENTICAL to what happens with batteries only faster, due to the lesser energy content of the about 0.3 Farad bank charged to 36 volts. Actually the bank is more like 0.35 Farad. So… I show the manufacturer’s given values on each capacitor. It’s easy to confirm that the bank is in parallel, hence the capacitances simply add. The values shown do indeed total to more than 350000 microFarads, about a third of a Farad. Even if I did misspell capacitance. DO THE MATH (tm RA).
