Electric OU: Altoid 4: Reverse Current at Load ?
The Altoid is shown driving a single LED load. This LED is shown being lit up in either orientation, depending on whether it is “shorted” by a 2.2 micrhoHenry inductor. Accompanying waveforms are shown for the two different conditions. This demo is done with no Zener in the Z position. Results are similar but with lower f0 and less negative power, using a 5.1 V Zener in the Z position. The circuit still will not oscillate at all with a 3.3 V Zener.
