Replication: Battery as the core

A good conundrum type of video was uploaded by Lidmotor this evening.

He and Pirate were wondering if an AA battery could be used as the core of a coil in a simple Joule Thief.

While watching the video, I thought a good layer may be galvanized steel…and it turns out, that it does work 🙂
