Slayer’s Big Joule Thief –My Replication

This is a replication of Slayer007’s ‘Big Joule Thief’. It is a one transistor circuit that charges as well as lights a modified CFL. The heart of the design is the trifilar (3 coils of wire on one core) coil that resonates. There are no moving parts. It runs on 12 volts and draws between 50 and 150 milliamps.
