Making an Ibpointless Stove Top crystal cell
This is my rendition of the Ibpointless “Stove Top” voltaic cell. It shows how I make this dry type crystal cell. One of these has been powering my LED oscillator “Penny No. 1” non stop for months now. The cell produces about 1.45 volts unloaded but only has about 1mA of power—on a good day. It has high impedance and will only power very low drain devices. The good news is that it will keep producing power at this low level for a very long period of time with no maintenance. Exactly how this cell works is still a mystery to me. The power output under load will vary and that indicates to me that external “conditions” are effecting the cell.
