Extreme High Voltage: Supplement: TinselKoil IX Some Psarks

Just fooling around. The resonant frequency of the coil is right about 736 kHz and even though there is enough current to melt the tip of the neon’s wire lead, I can feel nothing, no sensation of electricity at all.

However, at one point yesterday I did have the psark directly contact my skin without a good metal conductor, and it gave me a small, but very painful, RF burn on the side of the finger.

Input is 30 VDC at between 800 and 2100 mA, roughly averaged.
