C/Pb – Carbon Lead rechargeable battery

After finding a car wheel weight on the road about a week ago, I tried putting it with a carbon rod from an old battery as the electrodes for a cell. 3 teaspoons of Epsom salt were mixed in slowly to a pills bottle of water, while placed in front of a room heater. The initial voltage was suprising, immediately 1.138V, yet it hadn’t been voltage/current formed or otherwise touched. A week later, it charges well with 2V @ 130mA from a grouping of several old solar garden light solar panels and will run any project that requires up to 60mA. If not used, it will sit at around 1.2V until charged again. It plataeus out on the pulse motor circuit to a steady approx 1.1V running voltage and just sits there. Other circuits show similar strong bounce back too. The only degradation came when I initially formed the cell with a converted PC power supply, something that Yalgorup NP didn’t do with his lake salt and water based replication, yet his cell takes a charge well: www.youtube.com Reading up online, with the presumption that such a cell must be commonplace…I found that research is being conducted by Sandia and other outfits within carbon coating car battery lead plates. Thanks to Yalgorup NP for his supportive findings, sMartcreations2010 for the SS1CC pulse motor circuit and to Magnetman2010, who showed his semi contact free motor spindles some while ago and who posted a similar video of a pills bottle cell right after i’d finished building this one ! 🙂
