Joule Thief: NE-2 Rattler: Oscillation Modes, Scope Traces, DMM Values

Examining the high-power operation of the Joule Rattler. Here I show how it works without the big bank of filter capacitors, so it’s affecting the Elenco power supply’s regulation somehow. Explanations of what is happening are welcome, because I don’t understand many aspects of these phenomena. I do get the power supply problem; in a later video I’ll show how the filter bank straightens that part out. But I still get the several modes of oscillation and the seemingly extra-high power to the incandescent bulb when the circuit is at the feedback resonant mode.
