Hartley Flasher – Low power JT alternative

See description: Joule Thiefs are great circuits, but, it seems the Hartley oscillator might be a winner for flashing LED uses. Main idea is for low power requirements of micro aircraft….these can run in the uA range, that’s microamps ! The one in this video uses a standard 3904 transistor, a red LED, 2x100uF SMD capacitors and a 100K resistor. Total weight, including all wiring and LED is 1 gram. Flash rate is altered by changing the capacitor or resistor sizes. See Lidmotor’s channel for the Hartley oscillator circuit. Connect 1 leg of the LED to the Positive wire and 1 to the Emitter of the transistor.
