17" LCD monitor fix, to try old laptop
While clearing out some old hardware for parts, i decided to try and fix an Optiquest Q7 monitor. Doing so, would allow testing of a Compaq laptop that had no screen on it.
Neither condition was known, but the monitor had been apart years back for diagnosis.
It is in fact the only flat screen monitor I have, so was well worth taking a look at !
4 capacitors on the monitor power supply section were showing signs of bulging…3x 470uF 25V and 1x 330uF 25V
With all replaced, the monitor was tried out with the laptop and, surprisingly, the laptop booted into Windows XP.
