Here are more photos of the ac install and the gutter mount solar panel rack as requested by a viewer. This is a 5,000 btu unit that only draws 350 watts when the compressor is running. It is very efficient and I run it in econ mode so the compressor does not kick on a lot. It is a basic install using an 1/8″ thick aluminum plate my friend gave me and he also cut out the square hole for the unit and did a beautiful job. It is held in place inside by two square steel tubes that are bolted to both the unit and the door. there is butyl tape between that plate and the door and I caulked the edges of the plate and around the AC unit. No leaks in 2 years and I have been in some torrential rains during that time. I bought the roof rack from Amazon and it worked out really well. I have four 180 watt panels up there for 720 watts total. It clamps solidly to the gutters and I put thread locker on all bolts. The panels are wired in series and I have seen 730 watts input on the Bluetti more than once. One time was in the dead of winter, go figure. On clear days I average about 650 watts give or take. On cloudy days I can still pull in around 150-250 watts and I have a generator as a back up if needed. The solar panels are 1.5″ higher in the rear than in the front so the air pushes down on them a little at highways speeds. This keeps air from getting under the panels and trying to lift them.I also thinks it helps keep them clean as I usually only have to clean them in winter after it snows.
