P-40 part 2 – will she fly out today ?

This WWII fighter plane was due to fly out from Muskogee Airport today at 9.30am, after considerable engine work and testing.
But…a coolant leak had been discovered and would have to be fixed for the bird to take to the air.

Part 1: Finding the P-40 and over to the hangar to see a SNJ-5 converted to look like a Mitsubishi Zero (Kate)

Many thanks to all the great staff at the airport for allowing me to walk about filming.
Also Pilot Bob and his wife Carolyn.

From Wikipedia:
On 7 May (1942) the Japanese Army began building a pontoon bridge across the upper Salween River, which would allow them to move troops and supplies into China and drive towards Kunming. To stem this tide, 2nd Squadron Leader David Lee “Tex” Hill led a flight of four new P-40Es bombing and strafing into the mile deep Salween River Gorge. During the next four days, the AVG pilots flew continuous missions into the gorge, effectively neutralizing the Japanese forces.
