Electrostatic Motor —- Running On A Capacitor

This is a small ‘electrostatic motor’ running on energy stored in a high voltage capacitor. The capacitor is a 2500 volt / .015uf. The high voltage electrical energy stored in the capacitor was provided by a 3v to high voltage ‘bug zapper’ unit like what is found in an electronic ‘tennis racket’ type bug zapper. This motor will run for about 10 minutes on the charged up capacitor. The device is not super dangerous but a BAD shock can happen if you are not very careful. The capacitor on both the bug zapper unit and the motor can hold the high voltage silently for a long time. Build this device at your at your own risk.
