Battery free + wireless electricity – SJR L 4.0

Although run times on small capacitors and improvements to coil design have been focuses of others builds, this side idea has been to run the hyper efficient Lasersaber SJR L 4.0 without the need of even a tap from a 9V battery. Also, to find out whether it could be made into a wireless electricity circuit.

Build details

100+200 40AWG coil on ferrite choke
‘331’ capacitor across a salvaged BYM36C Fast Soft-Recovery diode
1N4148 diode replaces the 3x LEDs and a 24 turn 24AWG coil completes the regular connection to the Base of the transistor
MPSA18 transistor
0.47uF electrolytic across the power rails to smooth the incoming energies from the harvesting circuit

The center tapped output coil can be a simple 2 connection coil, without the tap, but it allows for checking that the circuit is running.
An A/V plug is used to connect the single wire to the LED and then a heatsink connects to the positive side of the LED, as a virtual ground.

The receiving coils benefit from having small ceramic capacitors across them. The capacitance range for LEDs being between 47pF and 0.001uF
