Low Hanging Fruit: Ed A’s Perpetual Motion 2

Here’s a test with a really good bearing at the top suspension, using the fishing line. No propensity to rotate in either direction is detected. Using this bearing the most that the line can store is under two full twists, before the bearing spins and releases the stored twist energy. The only way I’ve been able to reproduce the spinning effect is by using thread, which is of course twisted to begin with. It may be that the fishing line and bearing are still too frictional to show the very weak spinning effect. It is more likely that the effect is simply due to the initial built-in twist of the thread, unwinding under the weight of the magnet.
