Extreme High Voltage: Supplement: TKoil8 Standing Waves CFL

By stopping the camera’s iris down I was able to capture the standing waves in the CFL spiral tube.
The TinselKoil 8 bipolar Slayer has a new primary that is more closely coupled and produces higher output voltage. The Base pickup is just a wire stuffed into the RH end of the secondary. I’m using the 2sc2238a-y transistor, 24 vdc input at about 350 mA. I rigged up a little fan for the transistor heatsink to keep the thing from getting scary hot. The main oscillation frequency is 1.816 MHz (Philips 6676 counter).
