Magnetic Resonance Amplifier 2: Exp1 Waveforms

ERRATUM: I had the Current channel on 1x attenuation, not 10x, so the current values I speak should be divided by 10 to get the actual currents from the scope trace.
Please watch the first video first.

I removed the “input” LED, then I installed the 1 ohm non-inductive current-viewing resistor assembly at the Black output lead of the Function Generator. The input voltage waveform from the FG and the current waveform in the primary circuit (voltage drop across the 1 ohm CVR) are displayed on the scope as the upper and lower traces. The observed phase shift between the two signals confirms that we are seeing the current, not a duplication of the voltage supplied by the FG.

This demonstrates that, in spite of the piezo element, current does indeed flow in the primary circuit, the amount of current depends on the input frequency, power is transferred to the coil secondary correspondingly, resonance effects are seen, and the thing makes an annoying teapot kind of noise.
