Electric OU: Ainslie Figure 8 Using Triangle Sawtooth Gate Drive
Figure 8 from the Paper 1 of Donovan Martin and Rosemary Ainslie doesn’t appear in any other blog or forum post from her that I can find. However, I was able to find two other screenshots, SCRN0183 and SCRN0184, that were taken only minutes after the Figure 8 scopeshot, and were made using what I believe to be the same FG settings.
Here is my best guess at what the settings were. I’m only using half the battery voltage and a single Q2 mosfet in the Little Bryan test board, but the basic behaviour is well-illustrated nevertheless. A tilted triangle ramp fills the bill…. and this is made with the same offset and “symmetry” or dutycycle settings as were used with the previous square or rectangle wave gate drive.
