Bathroom Scale Battery Hack
A very simple video to show how to change a digital bathroom scale from button cell power to AA battery power. Not very complicated, I know but this might help someone that did not know that this could be done. My button cell battery was dead and I did not have another one so I simply hot glued a 2-cell AA battery holder onto the bottom of the scale and soldered the leads to the button cell terminals inside the cover. (+ to plus, – to minus) The AA batteries are in series for 3 volts and the button cell was 3 volts. The much larger Ma hours of the AA’s will make this run a much longer time. Sorry for the simplicity of this project. (The top and side of a button cell are + and the bottom is-.) I know the coin cells are cheap but, I already had everything I needed to switch over so it cost me nothing.
