alt.snakeoil Video Report 24: Debunking LifeHack2012’s Motor Powered by Magic Coil

There is a person with the handle “LifeHack2012” who is making lots of ad revenue from his faked video showing a “solid state coil” giving a voltage indication on a meter, running a small motor, and lighting up a light bulb brilliantly. In previous videos I showed how the meter and the light are faked, and in this video I went through the trouble of constructing the “fekked” motor. To make the fake demo even more convincing, LifeHack2012 should have gutted the 9V battery and put 3V of button cells inside. Then he could meter the “9V” battery with the fekked meter (which has 6V of button cells inside and a very slightly modded circuit) and it would show 9V, and he could also run the motor with the battery in the usual manner. I must say that I think it is very dishonest, a scam, and probably even a fraud, for this fellow to claim that his devices are real and then collect ad revenue as a result of thousands of people viewing his faked demonstrations. It’s a new kind of fraud, though…. who are the victims? The money comes from the advertisers and they have shown their ads to the viewers, so they aren’t defrauded. The viewers lose nothing but time and they form false beliefs…. nobody is “defrauded” there, if they are silly enough actually to believe LifeHack2012’s nonsense that is their own failing. But people like me, and like DesertExperimenter, who take their time and effort to explain and debunk this nonsense, are the real losers. Well, DE gets ad revenue too, I see
