Joule Thief: Basic Wireless Mod 3: Smoking Receiver
I noticed at the end of the video that something in the receiver components was smoking…. I think it was just the voltage regulator getting warm, nothing to worry about, no components are damaged. This happens because the VR is being supplied with 40 volts or so and has to work hard to get that down to the regulated output voltage. Should probably be on a heatsink for extended use.
