The LED plant

A hodge podge video, with some hopefully interesting observations. I’d intended to do a Guy Fawkes 5th November celebration, but am having resonance troubles. Several red and yellow LED’s were intended to light up within a few sticks and twigs to look like a bonfire. I expected to be able to build a few small circuits and mount them inside a ‘bonfire’ and they’d flash randomly. Unless shielded in some way with aluminium foil, the lot of them though flash in time with each other….a case of a neat effect being a troublesome problem. I then noticed the plant/weed thing growing at the back of the pot of soil. This soil was from outside about a week ago and has been seen in other videos. The growing thing seems to be following the look of the LED sat in front of it and popped up today! For nearly the whole time, the oscillator in front of it has been flashing away. Probably all random but i’m interested in what it may do next. Having run out of copper to use in such projects, an old salts cell from August 2011 was to have been the donor of it’s copper plate. A voltage reading showed 0.263V. I decided to spray it with a few drops quirt from a degreaser kitchen spray and, sure enough, it sat at 0.580V and now runs an oscillator. But… The oscillator sync’d up with the ones in the soil !!! So, just some observations and a growing thing in the soil that looks like an LED 🙂 Here’s the low voltage dual LED circuit from sMartcreations2010: www.youtube.com
