Electric OU: Diode Frequency Response

When is a diode just a diode? When it’s operating at low frequencies. At higher frequencies it takes some time to turn on and to recover, and it also has some capacitance, so it does not totally block the half of the signal that is reverse-biasing it. NOTE: at about 3:00 I say “fifteen hundred kiloHertz” when I meant to say “fifteen hundred Hertz”. Sorry about the confusion, the FG is set to 1500 Hz at that moment. Here I’m using a medium-fast diode from an old TV chassis. Earlier, I compared it to a 1n4005– much slower…. and to an MUR1560, “ultrafast” but not that much faster. All the diodes I tested showed significant shoot-through at higher frequencies.
