Magnet to Hall timing method – Pulse motor

Showing the firing timing using an LED. The coil is on the left of the rotor, the Hall sensor on the right. The LED is connected to the coil (with 200ohm resistor in this case) to show the individual switchings of the Hall sensor. This sensor is a bipolar device and all magnets face the same way. Where the field change occurs can easily be ascertained by watching for the exact position that the LED illuminates. Note – I say about the LED being on because of its position relative to the coil. I meant to indicate the Hall sensor. The sensor is approximately 1 magnet distance different to the coil and that’s where the setting up with the LED becomes useful 🙂
