SKYWATCHER– CFL and Charger using wall outlet transformer
This is “SkyWatcher’s” way of lighting a CFL by using a wall outlet transformer pulsed backwards with 12 volts DC from a 555 timer circuit. The circuit that he uses also places a parallel connected group of 1.5 volt batteries between the 12volt battery (+) and the positive rail of the timer circuit. It works. I show it charging up a super capacitor instead of the 1.5 volt batteries and then show the recovered energy running my little pulse motor. The amp draw on the CFL system is shown to be at the same level with and without the charging capacitor in the circuit.
