Jarod Yates – Friedwardt Winterberg & the TR-3B Black Triangle

Did Dr. Friedwardt Winterberg work on the TR-3B black triangle? He had a Q clearance, repeatedly visited Area 51 & designed the Project Daedelus fusion drive – but does it add up to a smoking gun? Jarod Yates discusses the legacy of this award-winning nuclear physicist & propulsion pioneer.

From August 4th to 10th, 2024, Jarod Yates & Tim Ventura visited Winterberg’s home in Reno, Nevada to work with his family to review, scan and archive his files, as well as preserve his unpublished papers for posterity.

We had the opportunity to review all of his papers, notes & correspondence dating back to the late 1950’s, including correspondence with friends & colleagues including Werner Heisenberg, Edward Teller, Werner Von Braun, Hermann Oberth, J. Allen Hynek, Carl Sagan, and many other remarkable scientists.

Winterberg was fascinated by UFOs, and his correspondence suggests that many other top-tier nuclear physicists shared that interest. He was also intensely interested in fusion-based solutions for space propulsion, and spoke with Carl Sagan and others about SETI and life elsewhere in the universe.

Friedwardt Winterberg was a German-American theoretical physicist and a research professor at the University of Nevada, Reno – and the Desert Research Institute prior to that.

Winterberg is known for his research in areas spanning general relativity, Planck scale physics, nuclear fusion, and plasmas. He developed new & innovative fusion power & propulsion technologies, Winterberg is known for his work in the fields of nuclear fusion and plasma physics, and conceived of a nuclear fusion propulsion reactor for space travel called the Winterberg / Daedalus Class Magnetic Compression Reaction Chamber.

Edward Teller has been quoted as saying that Winterberg had “perhaps not received the attention he deserves” for his work on fusion. In addition to his pioneering work in nuclear physics, Winterberg made the first proposal to test general relativity with atomic clocks in earth satellites, and developed the “Planck Aether Hypothesis”, a theory that claims to “explain both quantum mechanics and the theory of relativity as asymptotic low energy approximations, and gives a spectrum of particles greatly resembling the standard model.

Jarod Yates is the co-founder of Flux Space and has a career a background in Avionics and Physics. With over a decade in the Air Force repairing military communication, navigation, radar, and electronic warfare systems, followed by attending college for physics, he provides a unique perspective on alternative propulsion technologies in the modern military aviation environment. Currently, his research interests include the TR-3B as well as validation testing of Alexsey Chekerkov’s Graviflyer.
