Hauling out an old sailboat for bottom painting

This year we took our 32′ sailboat ‘Kapalua’ out of the water and had the anti-fouling paint job done. It is a hard task but has to be done every 3 to 5 years. Where we live the boats are left in the water all year and a diver cleans the marine growth off once a month. Eventually the paint is rubbed off and then the boat has to be hauled out and repainted. It is a long tough job.
Our boat is a 1974 Challenger 32 cruising sailboat built for open ocean passages. The name Kapalua is Hawaiian for ‘arms embracing the sea’. It is a location on the island of Maui in Hawaii.
