How to make conductive graphite – Charcoal Briquets versus Pine Cones
https://overunity.com

in this video I explore the possibility to make conductive graphite by carbonizing and heat treat
pine cones and charcoal briquets.
I also measured the electrical conduction of these materials.
I red glow heated some charcoal briquets on a grill and put some pine cones into some
alufoils and let them heat very much up, until all was gowing red hot and then
trampled on it with good heat resistive shoes and thus put the fire out and press it all together also this way.
Then I compared the electrical conduction of it. Well it was noted that the pine cone material
was not very much conductive, but the charcoal briquets were in the range from1 to 5 ohms, so this was a success.
So if you want to build good supercaps and need some cheap conductive graphite for the caps,
then better get these charcoal briquets and make your barbeque with it and when they have almost burned down, but are still red hot glowing, then get them and put the fire out and hard press them together.
This way you will get a very nice conductive graphite power. You still need to remove the white burned ash ontop of it, but below you will get the black conductive graphite powder.

Hope this helps.
