Scoposcopy: New Rigol DS1054Z Measurements Bug Part 2
Here I’m tracking down the minimum conditions to reproduce the Measurements Fail bug.
It turns out that all that is needed is two traces on and Math multiplying the two traces, at 20 ns/div, as appropriate for 10 MHz signals. All other settings can be at the scope’s Default values. (Even Acquire can be Normal, Mem Depth Auto.)
This is not a complex setup! It’s a perfectly normal use of the scope! To have the Measurements simply stop like this with no way to get them back, except rebooting the scope, is a MAJOR FAIL, even worse than the Freeze Bug I documented earlier.
What is the workaround for this one? Forget about making basic two-channel Power measurements _with a modern DSO_? Insert Big Facepalm here.
