SuperCapacitor test – Followup video to Robert Murray Smith´s MegaFarad Supercap video
I watched a few days ago the great videos from Robert Murray Smith
where he reported about his success about creating very high capacity supercapacitors via his graphene ink and some kind of mylar foil coated with aluminium ro something like this.
As I still had his graphite ink, I just wanted to see, if I can do something simular with it… This is just a first test to see, how to coat normal aluminiumfoil with his special grahite ink, so it has lots of surface area…
I first used Sodiumcarbonate NaCO3 to clean and make the surface of the Aluminiumfoil ruff, so it has more surface area.
The NaCO3-water solution I used for this had a PH-Value of about 10 so very alkaline.
As you need alkaline solutions to rubb off the Aluminiumoxide layer ontop of the alufoil, this was the way to go to create more contact area with the graphite I think.
Okay, this is just a fast test to see, if this could work this way…
in the next video I will test, how these electrodes charge up in salt-water solution.
