Extreme High Voltage: Supplement: TinselKoil IX Corona Breakout Study

Some more corona brush display from the breakout point, showing the effect of running the 555 Interrupter circuit through its mark-space ranges. This set is done with the bottom of the secondary grounded to the Earth Ground rod outside in moist soil, so the resonant frequency is lower (580 kHz or so) and the brush display is a little larger than in the previous videos using floating secondary. Still running 30VDC input, but current goes higher when the “ON” duty cycle is increased with the Interrupter.
