Low Hanging Fruit: Even More Final: Ed A’s Perpetual Motion 4

OK… in response to some good suggestions and constructive criticism I’ve made Yet Another “final final” video in this exploration series.

A sharp needle replaces the off-center Drywall Screw used in the previous video, and it does make a difference. Only about 1/8 rotation of “twist” of the fishing line fiber can be stored before the bearing friction is overcome and the needle starts rotation, as opposed to about 2 full turns for the drywall screw. So much less friction in the suspension.

Be sure to watch the last part for a very interesting demonstration of how the equilibrium “twist” of the thread depends on the pull force or weight of the suspended object.

The conclusion from these experiments reinforces that stated earlier: The “continuous” CCW rotation reported by Ed A and also by Robert Murray-Smith is due to the thread’s twist unwinding from the weight of the object, and has nothing to do with magnetism or the Earth’s rotation at all. Ed and Robert just missed this fact because their experiments are not true experiments with proper control comparisons, they are simply demonstrations of an observed effect. Only by performing True Experiments that have proper control conditions for comparison, may actual cause-and-effect relationships be determined among the variables and constants of the situation.
