1.5V Linear Motor – bifilar

A replication of Lidmotor’s Linear Motor, including being built on a stick, but the electromagnet coil is bifilar wound.

This one uses a AAA battery as the power source and draws approx 80mA per firing pulse.

Gauges are 30AWG for the Primary winding and 36AWG for the Secondary. 10 ohns resistance/600 turns.
The Primary connects as per Lidmotor’s circuit diagram, the Secondary connects to the 2 pins on the edge of the stick.

The ferrite piece came from an old AM radio and was sanded down due to flat sides. Then my wife suggested using pencil graphite to decrease the friction and it worked great !
