Arduino / Electric OU: Camera Intervalometer Data Logging System

I needed to record some time-temperature-power data over a long period of time. So I made this Arduino simple intervalometer to control the Canon camera through its external shutter release cable jack.

The system is very simple at present. The interval and number of shots is set in software, but I will be adding simple controls to the system so that these parameters can be set without changing the software.

This is just a shakedown of the system to see if I can actually do it. The resulting speeded up sequences are at the end of the video, one second per minute, so you see the whole hour’s worth of data in one minute. The numbers will wind up being transcribed to a spreadsheet for graphing.

I used OpenShot to assemble the video, KRename to batch-rename files, MTPaint for the titles, WinFF for transcoding, and of course the Arduino IDE.
