Electrostatic Motor — Running on a capacitor

This is an ‘electrostatic motor’ that is running on a charged up high voltage capacitor. It is a very interesting electric motor because of it’s pure simplicity. There are no magnets or coils of wire used to make the motor work. A high DC voltage potential is used with a delicate brush system on the rotor to cause an electron attraction and repulsion to occur. That force make the rotor turn.
