OKC Storm – Lightning Experiments
With the storm system from Oklahoma City approaching, I decided to conduct some solar panel based experiments.
A 20V panel has been built from pieces (Silicon Solar 2lb lot), the idea being to see how much is received with lightning flashes. Up to 1.25V was seen last night, but the storm cells were some distance away, none went overhead.
A solar garden light is seen reacting to the flashes.
A 2200uF 25V capacitor charged quite well, to 0.5V.
