The failure to superheat the water doesn’t mean it can’t be done. With a very clean bowl and a slow uniform heating it might be possible to superheat the water. But anyone who has accidentally superheated a cup of water in a microwave knows how dangerous that is. The water can suddenly burst into boiling, with painful results, or worse.
