3 Long Runners

An update, with plenty of dust ! 3 current experiments which run and run and run. The Vinnic battery carries on and hasn’t been moved at all since October 3rd 2012. It was charged for only about a minute from completely flat, using a version of Lasersaber’s SJR 3.0. The original video produced some thumbs down, but here it is, still going and everyone should try such a charge method who has doubted this battery. It’s now stopped being 24/7 and instead seemingly randomly fires up for days or hours at a time. Heck of a run. Meanwhile the poor old drum unit it sits on is still awaiting a clean ! The C/Pb cell from the last video now powers a blocking oscillator 24/7. In a similar setup to one of Lidmotor’s video’s (and where I got the idea from), the circuit has carried on running for a few days now on a solar circuit. It charges to around 1.65V, settles to about 1.2V and uses around 25mV overnight with the very light load of the LED blocking oscillator. There’s a 1N4007 diode on the input to the cell, to prevent back feeding to the solar panel when not charging. Charge is 2V @ 130mA from a South facing window (that now also needs a clean as do the panels!). Nephilim Penny began running 24/7 in November 2011. The water is the same, the copper electrode is the same, but the steel electrode had to be changed after a failed Vaseline protection idea failed. The steel electrode was changed again recently, after leaving it to simply sit with no maintenance for several months. A
