39E BiToroid: New Test Core Configuration, Interesting Effects

Here i am testing a new core configuration, using simple flyback transformer ferrites.
This is interesting how i can float a higher voltage in the output caps on the DC side of the FWBR, and run a light on the AC side to a higher brightness than the straight DC from the battery, AND for less current draw than the usual DC. AND to a higher voltage than the run battery with the light going.
bulbs were rated at 360mA draw, so i set the PWM deliberately to less than 360mA to run below regular current draw AND to see if it would run brighter than normal, WITH higher voltage sitting in the 1 Farad cap which is basically EXTRA power that the bulb isn’t consuming before the FWBR 🙂

Also in the vid i show the effect of placing one or both secondaries on load, very cool effects.
#1 secondary has coupling to primary, #2 secondary does not.
#2 will not run any power until #1
#1 benefits from #2, or just regular effects on #1
both #1 and #2 together and on their own, but give different sounds, so there must be one better than the other, etc…
Here for the main testing, secondaries #1 and #2 are parallel and primary coil is on far right side. bulb is on AC side and Caps are on DC side. i get brighter light on AC side, cause the caps are not limiting the peak voltage waves, then whatever the bulb doesn’t consume, gets past the bulb and thru the diode bridge and into the caps, i think its pretty cool, but its not easy to find the right frequency, here i have 3uF on primary to resonate at around 1 to 1.5khz
