Joule Thief: Supplement: AC vs DC Coupling and Effect on Voltage Measurement

Made especially for LTseung…. Yet Again attempting to explain the difference between AC coupling and DC coupling on the oscilloscope. Yes, I am irate. I have tried to explain this simple issue OVER and OVER many times to many people and they just do not seem to get it. AC COUPLING is NOT for measuring “ac” signals !!! It refers to how the signal is fed into the oscilloscope. I have illustrated this with scopeshots, with references to educational material, even by taking the scopes apart and SHOWING the coupling capacitor on the input jack and coupling switch of the scopes. Digital scopes are not different in this regard! You cannot use values simply derived from an AC-coupled signal to do power computations! You no longer have correct absolute values for your voltages! This invalidates power calcs using them! And this invalidates conclusions based on those calculations !!! Please…. please please please, learn how to use your tools properly, before you go around shouting about all the Free Energy and Overunity and COP over 50 you think you are making. The inaccurate claims based on incorrect measurements and improper use of measuring tools do an EXTREME DISSERVICE to those people who are good and careful and knowledgeable researchers using their tools properly, because it makes us all look silly in the eyes of the outside world.
