Hydraulicity 8: PerPump v. 2.0, Head Test, Pressure Increase

The PerPump v.2.0, external plumbing (mostly). Aka Fountain of Heron, Folger’s Instant version. Here I noticed an interesting effect. The output pressure rises if there is a little back pressure. This is shown by putting the straw over the outlet, letting a bit of head back pressure build up, then removing it quickly. The output stream shoots out farther for a moment, showing that the pump was pumping harder while the back pressure was present. The TinzelZed chamber is empty for this test, so the input water goes into the space defined by the inner ringwall — the empty pod chamber — until it overflows into the main chamber.
