Tesla Pierce-Arrow conversion + ‘Open the Doors’

In 1931, Nikola Tesla is reported to have driven a fuelless car to speeds of 90mph, using an A/C motor, box of components and a large antenna on the back of the car – nothing else, like batteries or petrol powered the vehicle. Full details here: keelynet.com My wife bought a Signature Models 1:32 1930 Pierce-Arrow Model B for me as a birthday present and it was due to arrive August 10th. When it arrived, I immediately converted it, as yer do. The electric motor is the armature assembly from a small cassette player type, the black box is a 24LC21 microchip (legs removed) and with 2 pieces of a resistors legs as the ‘stout rods’. The antenna at the back is made from a piece of copper wire, formed to look like an antenna. The DeLorean project was to emulate an interesting set of modifications by some folks, who actually make the cars look more realistic. The body mods are made by outlining the doors etc with a Sharpie on the inner shell, then cut out with a Dremmel, finishing the cuts by scoring with a sharp hobby knife. The drivers door on the DMC-12 now opens and stays (due to friction)..really expanding the realism of such models. It worked out very well for a first attempt and more are sure to follow 🙂 This DeLorean may well end up with headlights, flux capacitor and more, in keeping with previous YouTube videos on my channel.
