Arcs, Sparks and random Musings. Info on tuning and power transfer

Just some ramblings of information, sparks and tuning. Dug out the Model T coil that I love playing with as it was my first HV toy. I try to show and explain (generally) some things to look for possibly when tuning coils. Of course it all depends on the end use, but I kind of focus here on maximizing power transfer to a secondary and “binding” the load and “switcher” together (making the load the proverbial chicken). So, I suppose in the final state shown, it’s as close as you can get the model T to a load driven oscillator. I’d hoped the colors of sparks showed better, but you can see the blue / purple / yellow I talk about. The T coil provides a great way to analyze aspects of a system we cannot see or hear otherwise. These same concepts can be utilized in systems with loads and no sparks; as the same thing occurs. (eg- SJRC). EG- the maximum power in the system is available across the load; as opposed to primary, secondary or switch power circulation. Hope this helps Thanks, PB
