Unexpected Solar Bedini

This is my USB device – Unexpected Solar Bedini ! Tinkering away this afternoon on something completely unrelated, I decided to see if a Bedini wheel would show any signs of life from solar panels. It didn’t, except a brief flash. So I just carried on…then found a 6800uF 80V capacitor, last used in captret experiments. Put that as a buffer from the panels and WAHAY! off she ran 🙂 The wheel needs work and hence was on the work area..clatters a bit and needs tidying up. The only other thing is a 1N4007 diode on the Positive rail, because for some reason, late in the evening there seems to be a backflow, even though these panels have diode protection already apparently. So, just tinkering and mucking about. In the second part, I put a bulged out 12V dead battery inline, to hold the output leads and get video. That’s why it’s there. Panels output = 180mA @ 20V, though with any load they apparently go down to 12V. I thought my 3 coiler wheel needed more than that amperage to run 🙂 Past 5pm in March here in Oklahoma and it’s so good to know that not just high noon in July is the only option ! Big thanks to Kyle Carrington – he sent me the 3x 50012 1.8W solar panels. That’s the number on Amazon.com anyway. Panels are connected in parallel.
