Eteel-18 maiden

To the skies she went…this 18″ wingspan design is based on WWII work by Richard Keller, who was employed by the Horten brothers to calculate aerodynamics of the Horten IX. This is of 18″ and is a larger version of a similar aircraft built earlier in the year. First time of trying a KFm type airfoil, since some unsuccessful trials a year or so back. The 5×3 prop has never been tried as a prop size on own aircraft, though is familiar to most folks probably. The motor itself has been used before, it’s lasting very well…was wound a couple of years ago and has a brass bearing ! Magnet ring is mid silvered. Equipment: AR500 receiver – damaged antenna, now lightened (no case) to weigh 3g 2X JR-SM8 servo’s for the elevons CD-Rom motor – underpowered, but all is stock except I rewound it 20T Wye GWS 5×3 prop 2S 300mAh lipo A bit underpowered, as noted and I haven’t flown anything since February, so all was gentle today. A formation of 4 military helicopters flew nearby during the flying. She flies great 😀
