This video shows how the “Pancake coil JT” can be used as a short distance AM radio transmitter. I also show how I used a “radio direction finder” method to help navigate to Hawaii and back in a small sailboat many years ago. This was way before GPS. A radio direction finder (RDF) and celestial navigation using a sextant was all I had. Loran was available but only wealthy “yacht” people had it in 1973.
