Tesla tower – 1 wire 4ft fluorescent

See description: A salvaged 4ft flourescent tube demo. The tubes were on the roadside, used up and disregarded. i picked up the 4 of them and set about today to light 1 up to its full length and with usable brightness. The Tesla tower is an older one, about 6″ high, 22 gauge wire approx on PVC plumbing pipe. 2 turns of 18 gauge approx for the primary. Circuit is a simple transistor switcher, using Slayer007’s feedback and triggering technique (see GBluer’s channel for circuit). Transistor is a B772, found on a PC monitor circuit board. Everything here is salvaged and recycled 🙂 No idea of the mA used, my meter is an analog coil type and has trouble with close proximity to wireless fields. Typically 200mA in such conditions.
