Prototype pulse motor with prop

An extension of the tiny pulse motor posted yesterday – it’s now SMALLER 🙂 and it has a prop on the end. I needed to know whether the mini scale pulse motor would deliver the torque needed to swing a propeller at any decent rate. The aim, is to form a workable solution, an alternative to brushed and brushless motors for micro flight. With the knowledge now, that torque is really very good for such a size, I can further work on the design. One aspect which drives this whole line of experiments, is that of wireless no battery powering of micro aircraft. No time limits, fly all day if wished and never have to land. Wireless flight was an unrealised dream of Nikola Tesla and my previous projects all relate to his wish for such a project to, well, take flight. New techniques would be needed and my channel is hopefully showing the innovations needed to complete the rudimentary overall approach. Thus, the pulse motor rotor system will be fitted initially to a helicopter design. The powering section, with coil, transistor, rotor will sit low in the body, assisting weight distribution and forming a gyroscopic effect. Gyroscopic flight mechanicals were also envisioned by Tesla. A 1:1 gear will spin the helicopter rotor in the other direction. This, it is hoped, will then negate the need for multiple rotors on the top of micro helicopter designs at least….something the conventional heli’s have long needed. A better build of pulse rotor, lighter and more finely crafted yet working
