Very interesting observation. Instead of using a capacitor I’ve just shortened collector to prime bttry through diode and got looks-like self-charging mode; system keeps 12.18V, magnet running steady, and only after 2hrs it started decline very slow; before I stopped it in 4 hrs it had 12.12V. Seems bouncing bemf hitting bttry, and slowing its’ draining.
